Biggenden and Mundubbera help Rotary Lodge

Posted on July 10, 2012

The Biggenden and Mundubbera communities have thrown their continued support behind Rotary Lodge with sizeable donations in recent weeks.

Biggenden Masonic Lodge Workshipful Master Darby Barkle presents a $600 cheque to Bundaberg Health Services Foundation manager Maria Burnet.

Manager of the Foundation Maria Burnet said a charity concert night, hosted by the Biggenden Masonic Lodge in April raised $600 while the Mundubbera Lions Club has donated $500.

“These are large donations and show a tremendous commitment by these towns in supporting patients and carers in their time of need,’’ Ms Burnet said.

The lodge, located at 116 Woongarra Street, Bundaberg, offers patients and their carers from the North Burnett, Agnes Water and surrounding coastal communities a low cost accommodation option.

The Foundation is leasing the property which is a considerable undertaking for a non-profit charity organisation.

“The Lodge’s future success depends on support from the people who want it and we are very grateful that the communities are continuing to dig deep.’’
