Oakwood students make sick children smile

Posted on November 28, 2011

Oakwood State School held a free dress day recently and decided to use the money raised to help sick children.

The 95 students raised a total of $160 and used it to purchase DVDs and entertainment/colouring packages for paediatric patients at Bundaberg Hospital.

The Bundaberg Health Services Foundation took the student leaders, chaplain and principal on a tour of the ward recently so they could deliver the packages in person.

The Free Dress Day was held during the special Random Acts of Kindess Week and the students are to be congratulated on thinking of others less fortunate than themselves.

For more information on how your school can raise funds to buy medical equipment for patients at the Bundaberg Hospital telephone the Foundation on 4150 2863.
